Nouroddin Yousofi

Biography

Nouroddin Yousofi got his BA in English translation from Allameh Tabatabaei University (ATU TEHRAN, IRAN) and his MA in English Applied Linguistics from the University of Tehran (UT). He received his PhD in Applied Linguistics from Allameh Tabatabaei University in the summer of 2009. He began his official collaboration with Razi University (KERMANSHAH, IRAN) in July 2009. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of English Language and Literature in the Faculty of Literature and Humanities. During this time, he has taught various courses such as teaching methodologies, testing, literary translation, reading press texts, educational psychology, educational philosophy, principles of translation, translation of Islamic texts and research methods at the undergraduate level. Also, the courses he usually teaches at postgraduate level include research methods, principles and methods of teaching skills, contrastive linguistics, English for specific purposes and curriculum development.

In the field of research, his main interests include research methods, teaching/learning language skills, the role of culture in language teaching, first language acquisition and second language learning. His independent and collaborative articles with graduate students ( under his supervision) have been published in prestigious domestic and international journals.

Among his executive experiments is the establishment of "the Faculty of Management and Accounting of Javanrood" in 2011. He was in charge of the management of this faculty for two terms and (7 years). Dr. Nouroddin Yousofi is an official translator of English and Kurdish languages. He can communicate in Persian, Kurdish,English and Arabic.

He is the editor-in-chief of the Technology Assisted Language Education (TALE) journal of the Department of English Language Teaching and Linguistics at Razi University.
